Corporate Controller, North Atlanta
Our client, a growing manufacturing company who has recently moved its corporate headquarters to a luxury office space in the North Atlanta area, is looking for a Controller for its manufacturing operations. A qualified individual should be detail oriented, possess strong GAAP accounting and analytical skills. A qualified candidate should have a strong understanding of work in process accounting in a non- standard cost environment. This position reports directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- This position will have full P/L and balance sheet responsibility for the manufacturing division.
- Support corporate accounting activities, including monthly and annual closing and year end audit, as needed.
- Develop and improve financial processes: finance reporting tools, management reporting tools, budgeting and estimating processes, standard production cost set ups and analyses, capital investment, etc.
- Financial liaison for our manufacturing operations. Provide strong business support and communicate financial impacts to senior management.
- Develop operating plans, forecasts, reviews, estimates and cash flow forecasting, as well as the annual budget for the manufacturing division.
- Contribute to improving efficiencies and performance as well as providing quality financial information (e.g. report dashboard and productivity).
- Perform margin analysis including the identification and measurement of productivity savings and providing analysis of results and key reporting metrics while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, and recommending actions to support profitable growth.
- Analyze results to understand trends and variances to plan to identify opportunities for cost reductions.
- Perform product cost analysis activities such as: generate/validate unit product cost estimates, provide variances, trend and cost component analysis and make/buy analysis.
- Perform inventory analysis to identify risk and opportunities to meet inventory forecasts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field of study.
- Masters degree is preferred, but not required.
- Strong GAAP knowledge.
- 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
